Project Structure and Working Groups

We have established working groups for 11 initiatives related to research administration with the goal of harmonizing processes for Rutgers University–New Brunswick, Rutgers University–Newark, Rutgers University–Camden, and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Each initiative will have a separate work plan which will include metrics to monitor the progress and impact of each initiative.

The working groups, in many cases, will involve individuals from both central and department/school administration.  Project efforts might include

  • implementing a new business process or piece of technology;
  • drafting policies and procedures;
  • designing and conducting training;
  • defining roles and responsibilities;
  • reorganizing resources and tools into one common place.

We established a Project Management Office to oversee and support implementation and ensure consistency and cohesion with the plan as a whole.
